The Eddys

The Eddys were a Sydney based rockin' combo in the 80's.

They visited Perth for a show called "One For The Money" at the Regal Theatre in Subiaco.

This interview was conducted in their hotel as I recall. You can hear their cassette player in the background which meant I couldn't edit the interview, so it was played as recorded.

This would have been around 1986.

Some of the Eddys music is available on a compliation from the great Canetoad Records.

Gene Vincent Rocks!

The annual Gene Vincent Night at the Ace Cafe is always a blast.

Paul Maitland played Gene in the stage play "Be Bop A Lula".

He is a true fan.

The other cats were in the Bluecats, the cool 80's rockin' band.

I'm not sure if I'll get to London for this, but I hope to.

I'm having problems ripping the cassette tapes of the interviews to the computer, so please hang in there.

The Man From Happy Wants To Kill Himself

Buddy Knox was one of the first interviews I ever did. It was in the early 80's sometime.

Fortunately I had the help of audio genius Kim LeSouef to record this effort on the phone.

I think Buddy was in Canada.

I remember it was one of the foot in the mouth moments when I told him I really liked a song of his and got myself all confused and mentioned someone else's song.

OK here we go with the first test.

Tap, tap, ahem, is this thing turned on?

These first test files were ripped by some unknown random person.

They seem to have edited some of the ID's together.

They feature a couple of vinyl tracks released by Session 57 on their own Huggy Boy record label. A long out of print release.

The drummer, Lee Hugman can usually be found spinning the records at the Thunderbird rock 'n'roll club in Wellingborough [UK} these days.

OK, firstly let me introduce myself.

I grew up in Perth Western Australia.

These days I live in the North East of England.

For about 12 years I presented a rock 'n' roll radio show in Perth.

In the coming months I will paste some of the memorable moments of the radio show up here.
